His practice, Michael James Lumb Biokineticist is situated in Somerset West with the practice specialising in orthopaedic exercise rehabilitation, injury prevention, performance, health promotion and chronic disease management (i.e. cardiopulmonary and neurological pathologies). Future goals for the practice are to provide care for athletes that present with persisting symptoms after concussion.
In addition to practising, Michael continues to have the privilege of lecturing at Stellenbosch University, specifically in cardiovascular, cardiopulmonary and chronic disease management as well as ECG implementation.
In addition to this he pursues his passion of conducting research in the field of Sports Science and Biokinetics, currently exploring cortical function and postural sway in persistent post-concussion South African rugby players with symptoms of anxiety and/or depressive moods compared to those with none to minimal symptoms.
